Tom Brittney (Call the Midwife, Outlander, The Five, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool) will replace James Norton in the upcoming fourth season of the religious crime drama series Grantchester.
With James Norton stepping down as Sidney Chambers after the fourth season of PBS and ITV’s Grantchester, ITV has confirmed that the hit series will feature Outlandish star Tom Britney as the new vicar.
On joining the show’s cast as Detective Geordie Keating’s new crime-solving partner, Brittney said that he is absolutely thrilled and honored to be a part of such a phenomenal TV series.
The departing James Norton said that even though he is excited to film the fourth season of the show, it breaks his heart to bid farewell to Sidney Chambers. He cherishes the experience, especially working with the fantastic cast and crew. He wished good luck to Tom Brittney and added that Brittney is an amazing addition to the Grantchester cast.
Kudos executive producer, Diederick Santer, promised the viewers of the drama that they will love the new Vicar. He said that he is thrilled about the latest addition to the show’s cast.
He further added that Brittney is a very likable and gifted actor, and will make not only a great clergyman of Grantchester but also an excellent crime-fighting partner of Geordie Keating.
